Colorado commit Alexander Ward to reclassify and sign this week with the Buffaloes

Colorado four-star 2027 athlete commit Alexander Ward will reclassify to the 2026 cycle and sign with Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes on Wednesday.

Ward is a former Alabama commit that locked in with Colorado last month. He will join his brother in receiver Christian Ward as part of the 2026 class.

The plan is for Alex to play wide receiver and in the secondary on the next level.

“Really just being able to go to a school that had somebody that played both sides and was great both sides. Deion Sanders is there and knowing how to control a superstar like him and all that talent. Also my brother being there it’s another great opportunity to play with my brother. I want to go up there and be coached by the best and be the best.”

Ward had to accelerate his studies to make this happen. He plans to major in business.
