The penultimate College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night. At the expense of Michigan and many others, the CFP picture is coming into clearer focus as we enter conference championship weekend.
Unsurprisingly, Ohio State, the FanDuel betting favorite, remained No. 1, and Indiana solidified the second spot after completely dismantling Purdue. As the only two undefeated teams in the country, the Big Ten Championship carries high intrigue, yet low stakes, as both teams are locks for the CFP. But behind these two Big Ten behemoths, there was a reshuffling after Texas A&M fell in Austin.

For the last week, No. 12 Miami can lay claim to the CFP as the “paper” ACC representative, but its only official shot is as an at-large. The ACC will be decided on Saturday between Virginia and Duke — just like we all predicted.
No. 20 Tulane is the frontrunner for the 12-seed as the Group of Six representative and will have an unofficial home qualifier against No. 24 North Texas for the AAC Championship to earn the final spot. If Duke pulls the upset, the Group of Six representative could take the 11-seed, while the ACC Champion falls to 12.
Michigan’s likely bowl gameThe Michigan Wolverines fell four spots to No. 19 after losing The Game, 27-9. With the loss, the Wolverines were officially eliminated from CFP contention and will likely have to settle for the consolation prize of facing Texas in the Citrus Bowl. Here are the official FanDuel odds.
