The Southwestern Lady Warriors kicked off their campaign on the road on Monday as they took on the Lady Admirals of Danville. In what was a close contest between the two foes, the Warriors continued what is now a eight-game winning streak over them with a 73-65 victory.
Jaelyn Dye led the way with a near double-double with 27 points and nine rebounds. Other contributors included McKaila Monroe with 12 points and seven rebounds, Kiara Scott with 10 points, Semaj Artis with six points, the trio of Mollie Osborne, Kenzie Williams and Clare-Marie Ramsey with four points apiece, Kylie Dalton with three points, Andrea West with two points and Layla Casada with one point.

Cougars fall to Danville in season-opener
The Somerset Christian Cougars were at the Cougar Den on Monday to kick off their season with a contest against the Danville Admirals. It was a close contest between the regional foes, but the Cougars eventually came out on the short end of the proverbial stick as Danville took them down 86-80.
Somerset Christian falls to 0-1 to start the season, with the Cougars next scheduled to travel to Cornerstone Christian Academy this weekend to compete in the KCAC State Tournament.
