PlayStation Plus has been getting quite a few free additions in recent weeks, with a great mix of genres and experiences. December is no exception, and is arguably one of the best months on record for the service.

With the full lineup revealed by PlayStation on their blog, you have a lot to choose from this month. Just know that there's one Metacritic-ranked 89 game you need to play.

Neon White Is A Must-Play PlayStation Plus Freebie

It's A Fast And Frenetic Game

Neon White is a well-reviewed and action-packed puzzle platformer, where you essentially speedrun through each level. Your job is to clear out demons while wielding weapons represented by cards, which are essentially superpowers.

When Neon White was released in 2022, I was drawn to it immediately. First-person puzzle platforming games are my jam, and I've been addicted to them ever since the original Jumping Flash. While they can be tough to master, they're incredibly easy to play and get into, and typically teach you mechanics slowly over time so you can adapt.

If you can spare the time, I highly recommend trying out Neon White. It's addictive, but you can put it down easily thanks to the level-based foundation.

There Are Four Other PS Plus Essential Games This Month

Lots Of Options For December

Neon White is one of five PlayStation Plus games on offer for the Essential tier. Here are the other games Sony is dropping in December:

  • LEGO Horizon Adventures
  • Killing Floor 3
  • The Outlast Trials
  • Synduality Echo of Ada

As you can see, there's a good amount of variety here, especially when you contrast the ultra-violent Killing Floor 3 to the LEGO Horizon universe.

PlayStation Plus is in a good spot, which is perfectly timed for the holiday season. Even if you aren't picking up some newer holiday games, you can still play a bunch of classics.
