The Eagles are already dealing with injuries, and now their safety duo will be affected after both Reed Blankenship and Andrew Mukuba suffered injuries in the 24-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Blankenship sustained a rib injury and didn't return, while Mukuba will have surgery after fracturing his ankle.

Mukuba had three tackles in the loss, and Dallas leads the Eagles with two interceptions; he's fourth on the team with 43 tackles and has one half-sack, two tackles for loss, three passes defended, and his 81.5 run defense grade is sixth in the NFL according to PFF.

With Mukuba out, Sydney Brown could be inserted at one safety spot. At the same time, Cooper DeJean and cornerback Michael Carter II can both play safety. Philadelphia could potentially place a call to free-agent safety Justin Simmons.
