Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has not played since Nov. 5 after he suffered a left hamstring strain in the Nets' first win of the season, a 112-103 win at the Indiana Pacers. Brooklyn has been trying to move forward hoping that Michael Porter Jr. could pick up the offensive slack in the wake of Thomas' injury, but the Nets are finally giving an update on Thomas.
"He's getting an MRI at the end of the week, and then when we get the reads, we'll give you guys an update. So, we'll let you know when that happens," Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said prior to Monday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Two days after Thomas strained his hamstring against the Pacers, Brooklyn announced that Thomas would be re-evaluated in three to four weeks after the announcement.

With Thomas on the floor alongside Porter, the Nets at least had a duo that could put the offense on their back and draw enough attention from the opposing defense to create opportunities for the rest of the team.
While the Nets have a better offensive rating (112.9) with Thomas on the court than off the court (111.3) this season, many watching Brooklyn knows that Thomas is one of the more talented scorers in the league, regardless of position. The Nets have only won two games since Thomas has been out of the lineup and the offense has not been playing well so Brooklyn could use Thomas back in the rotation as soon as possible.
The good news is that Porter is back in the lineup for the Nets in Monday's contest against the Hornets after missing the past two games with low back tightness. Fernandez has maintained that Brooklyn wasn't worried about Porter's back tightness as it relates to his long-term health, but the team has to feel better that he is ready to go in the midst of Thomas still working his way back from his hamstring injury.
