Is Hugh Jackman going to be in Avengers: Doomsday? The X-Men actor recently hinted at a potential appearance in Marvel's upcoming superhero film, despite saying he would put the claws down after 2017's Logan. As we all know, Jackman brought Wolverine out of retirement last year for Deadpool & Wolverine, and now, there is a chance that this mutant will join the Earth's Mightiest Heroes for one more battle. During his recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Jackman was asked whether he would appear in Avengers: Doomsday. While he didn't give a solid answer, he didn't say no to the opportunity, considering he's been playing Wolverine since 2000. And if he can't appear in the film for some reason, he jokingly acknowledges that Marvel could use technology to bring him into the MCU once more.

"Maybe. I'm never saying 'never' ever again […] I have done ten films now, so I think they have enough for an AI version of me."

Jackman first played Wolverine in the 2000 film X-Men, and since then, he has reprised the role 10 times, most recently in Deadpool & Wolverine. Originally, he was supposed to stop playing the character after Logan's release, and he stuck by that decision when he declined to appear in the first Deadpool movie. But after seeing the 2016 feature, Jackman had a change of heart and made his MCU debut in 2024.

Who Is Going To Star in 'Avengers: Doomsday'?

Avengers: Doomsday features a star-studded cast, including many actors who made their debuts during the Infinity Saga, those who joined during Phases 4 to 6, and those who've appeared pre-Marvel Studios. Some of them include Chris Hemsworth, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Simu Liu, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Kelsey Grammer, David Harbour, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen, just to name a few. Additionally, there are some Marvel staples like Jeremy Renner, Tom Holland, and Brie Larson, who have appeared in previous Marvel projects, but have yet to be confirmed to star in the upcoming feature. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen and Scarlett Johansson have made it clear they won't be in the film.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that two of Marvel's biggest actors, Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans, will be returning to the MCU, despite their characters' stories coming to a close in Avengers: Endgame. However, both Downey and Evans will be playing different roles in the feature: Downey as Doctor Doom, and the latter with an unnamed role as of writing.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to enter theaters on December 18, 2025. Follow Collider to stay updated.
