The Philadelphia Phillies are in the market for outfield help this offseason. Harrison Bader is a free agent, and Nick Castellanos is very likely to be traded or cut this winter.

While Brandon Marsh is sticking around, for now, he still struggles to hit left-handed pitching. Instead of trying to make Marsh an everyday player, platooning him might be the right choice.

And, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com linked the Phillies to a perfect complement to Marsh this winter. A former New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and Boston Red Sox outfielder would be the perfect addition alongside Marsh in the outfield.

While the Phillies could try to land a star like Cody Bellinger or Kyle Tucker in the outfield, their best bet might be to go cheaper. Rob Refsnyder is the player Feinsand links to Philadelphia, and it's a move that would make a lot of sense.

"Philadelphia's top targets remain Kyle Schwarber and JT Realmuto," Feinsand writes, "but the Phillies could use a right-handed bat in the outfield to complement Brandon Marsh and/or Justin Crawford - especially if Harrison Bader signs elsewhere."

The Phillies have a need in the outfield, and someone like Refsnyder would be a cheap and quality option to complement Marsh.

He's a right-handed-hitting outfielder who plays solid defense, but most importantly, hits lefties well. Refsnyder had a .959 OPS and seven home runs against left-handed pitching in 2025.

While he had only 138 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers, his strong offensive performances, combined with his outfield versatility - being able to play all three outfield positions - make Refsnyder a great free agent target for the Phillies this winter.

Refsynder might not be Bellinger or Tucker, but he could help round out the Phillies' outfield in an affordable way, which could allow for Kyle Schwarber and JT Realmuto to come back, as the outfield isn't encumbered by a huge contract.
