The New Year brings some thrilling news for Harlan Coben's fans. His much-awaited series, Run Away, premieres on January 6 and tells another twisty tale in Coben's signature style. The new series follows his previous smash hit, Fool Me Once, which held viewers' attention for multiple weeks and reached the top of Netflix's streaming charts. Run Away is a story about a father's attempt to reconnect with his daughter. The official logline reads:
Simon (Nesbitt) had the perfect life: loving wife and kids, great job, beautiful home. But then his eldest daughter, Paige, ran away, and everything fell apart. So now, when he finds her, vulnerable and strung out on drugs in a city park, he finally has the chance to bring his little girl home. But it turns out she's not alone, and an argument escalates into shocking violence. In the aftermath, Simon loses his daughter all over again, and his search to find her will take him into a dangerous underworld, revealing deep secrets that could tear his family apart forever.
The series, written by Danny Brocklehurst and Charlotte Coben, stars James Nesbitt (Simon Greene), Minnie Driver (Ingrid Greene), Ruth Jones (Elena Ravenscroft), Alfred Enoch (Isaac Fagbenle), and Lucian Masmati (Cornelius Faber). Netflix released a trailer for the series, previewing the events that unfold when a regular dad's life goes off the rails.
Harlan Coben Expands His Netflix Footprint with 'Run Away'
Like Fool Me Once, Run Away is also set in the UK. The trailer above introduces the characters and storylines as Simon's perfect life crumbles. The happiness a father feels when their daughter attends a university dies after the daughter goes missing. It gives way to despair when Paige is implicated in a crime and law enforcement comes knocking. Simon learns that his daughter is a drug addict and has a boyfriend who seems bent on keeping him this way. Things take a turn when the boyfriend is killed, and Simon is one of the biggest suspects. How does Paige fit into this murder, and what would Simon do to bring his daughter home?
Run Away is one of the thirteen Harlan Coben titles produced for Netflix. Missing You, Fool Me Once, Gone For Good, The Stranger, Stay Close, The Innocent, Hold Tight, The Woods, and Safe are available to stream, while Run Away, Caught, Just One Look, and I Will Find You will be added later.
Run Away premieres on Netflix on January 1, 2026. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
