Liverpool defender Grace Fisk has withdrawn from the England squad after picking up a minor calf injury.

England head coach Sarina Wiegman confirmed the news in a press conference this morning.

The 27-year-old centre-back was an unused substitute as the Lionesses demolished China PR 8-0 in a friendly at Wembley Stadium on Saturday but she will play no further part in the current international window. Fisk will now receive treatment on her injury back at her club.

England boss Wiegman will not draft in a replacement for Fisk given the fact that the squad are nearing the end of the current camp. There will be one new face in the squad with goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck making her long-awaited return in place of Manchester City’s Khiara Keating.

The Lionesses sign off the November camp and another successful year on the pitch with an international friendly against Ghana at St Mary’s Stadium in Southampton tomorrow night. That game will also bring England’s ‘Homecoming Series’ to an end. Wiegman’s side have recorded wins over China PR and Australia in the series so far while their only defeat came against Brazil.

England’s international friendly against Ghana kicks-off at 7pm tomorrow night. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
