Florian Thauvin revealed the extent to which Jonathan Gradit’s serious injury in last week’s training session affected him following RC Lens’ 2-1 win over SCO Angers on Sunday.
Gradit is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a serious injury this Friday during training, the Artois side has confirmed. Gradit has fractured his right fibula and has undergone surgery; he will therefore miss several months of action.

The defender was rushed to the hospital following the incident in Friday’s training session. The severity of it clearly had an impact on the Lens squad and Thauvin. Speaking to Ligue 1 + on Sunday, Thauvin said that Gradit’s injury “prevented [him] from sleeping.”
“It made me sick,” added the France international. In his absence, Les Sang et Or registered yet another win, which takes them top of Ligue 1 after Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille slipped up over the weekend.
