The Pittsburgh Steelers dropped their fifth loss in seven games Sunday, losing 26-7 to the Buffalo Bills. The one-sided loss prompted chants to fire head coach Mike Tomlin.

Pittsburgh’s bench boss is the longest tenured coach in the NFL and a beloved member of the Steelers organization. However, with frustrations boiling over and a current record of 6-6, Steelers fans seem to have had enough.

During his post-game press conference, Tomlin was asked about the “Fire Tomlin” chants by Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“Man, I share their frustrations tonight,” said Tomlin. “We didn’t do enough, that’s just the reality of it.”

When Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers addressed the media, Carter questioned what the lackluster performance boiled down to, hinting it could have been a potential falter on the coaching staff. Frustrated, Rodgers took a moment to respond.

“I believe in the coaching staff, I believe in Mike Tomlin, that’s why I came here,” said Rodgers. “Players need to take accountability, myself included, and I will. I’ll continue to, I gotta play better.”

The Tomlin chants were not the only big moment from the crowd on Sunday, as a beloved Steelers tradition was also greeted by a response of agitation.

When the scoreboard goes dim and the words “Oh mama” begin to play, Steelers fans typically get as loud as they will be all game. However, at the 26-7 loss, Pittsburgh fans booed the patented Styx song, “Renegade,” as it began to play.

With the loss, the Steelers now fall back to second place in the AFC North, a half-game behind the Baltimore Ravens. With a meeting in Baltimore next week, a win may be crucial for coaches, players, and fans.
