Shedeur Sanders didn’t sugarcoat a thing. Not the mistakes. Not the timing issues. Not the missed throws. He walked into the room after a 26-8 loss to San Francisco with a clear message for his teammates, his coaches, and himself.

His night reflected the frustration. Sanders went 16-25 for 149 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He missed a deep shot to Jerry Jeudy early, a throw he said had nothing to do with the wind and everything to do with his own execution.
“I was just calculated off,” he said. “It was just a miss. It was just a missed shot. When I miss, I gotta keep shooting.”
Asked how he played, he gave the answer he always gives, the one that never spares himself.
“By wins and losses. Obviously we lost, so I ain’t play well.”

The questions turned to leadership, timing, and chemistry. Sanders didn’t dodge any of it.
“A lot of time passing-wise, we not seeing everything in the same lens,” he said. “This team not gonna be a microwave thing. It takes time to develop that chemistry.”
Even on a rolled ankle, he stayed in. “Just a little ankle. We good though.”
Then came the moment that lit up the room. He was asked what he thought about the two failed fourth and ones, and whether he liked the aggressiveness.
“First, that’s a rude question,” Sanders said. “I’m thankful he trusted us. Did we execute? No. But we are not ever pointing fingers at a coach. That’s extremely disrespectful.”

“I know the offense and the team count on me…and I feel like I failed them today.”
