Denver rolls into this game at 9–2, riding an eight-game winning streak and firmly in the mix for a top seed in the AFC. Their defense has been a significant factor in their success; they rank among the best in the league in total yards and scoring allowed, and lead the NFL with 49 sacks so far this season. On offense, they’re balanced and efficient enough to keep the chains moving. If Bo Nix protects the ball and the offensive line holds up under pressure, Denver should be able to control tempo and pressure the Commanders’ shaky defense.
Washington, at 3–8, is coming off a bye and desperate to avoid slipping further, though this season has been a struggle; they enter having lost six straight. Their offense still shows spark at times, but the run game remains among the better ones in the league this year. Their pass defense and overall defensive consistency, however, continue to be major liabilities, which could be exploited by Denver’s pass rush and offensive balance. If the Commanders want a shot, they’ll need strong rushing production, smart clock-management, and limiting turnovers, but on paper, this looks like a tough ask against a surging Broncos squad with playoff momentum.
