Iowa quarterback Jackson Stratton intends to enter the transfer portal. The Hawkeyes' former signal-caller shared the news on Sunday in a post on X.

"I want to express my sincere gratitiude to the University of Iowa, my coaches, my teammates, training and support staff. Thank you Hawkeye nation for all the love and support you have shown me. It's been an honor to play in Kinnick Stadium and wear the black and gold.

"With two years of eligibility remaining, I'll be entering the transfer portal as a graduate transfer and proud graduate of the University of Iowa. I will always be a Hawkeye and am looking forward to the next chapter, new challenges and the chance to keep doing what I love," Stratton wrote in his announcement.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound quarterback appeared in three games during the 2024 season and started the Hawkeyes' final two regular-season games at Maryland and versus Nebraska. Iowa won those games at Maryland, 29-13, and versus Nebraska, 13-10.

The Hawkeyes' win over Nebraska included running back Kaleb Johnson's incredible 72-yard catch-and-run touchdown off a Stratton pass. Stratton passed for 76 yards at Maryland and for 115 yards against Nebraska.

Stratton was pressed into duty during Iowa's eventual 20-17 loss at UCLA on Nov. 8 of the 2024 season after Brendan Sullivan exited with an ankle injury.
