Louisville volleyball to open NCAA Tournament vs. Loyola Chicago

Louisville volleyball will enter the 2025 NCAA Volleyball Tournament as a two-seed in the same regional as No. 1 overall seed Nebraska, home to former Cards head coach Dani Busboom Kelly.

UofL hosts Atlantic 10 automatic qualifier Loyola Chicago at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.

Should the Cardinals win, they'd play the winner of seven-seed Western Kentucky and Marquette to advance to the regional round.

Louisville finished the regular season 24-6 and 5th in the ACC behind Stanford, Pitt, SMU and Miami. The league is one of college volleyball's best, with six teams (No. 4 Pitt, No. 5 Stanford, No. 7 UofL, No. 8 SMU, No. 14 Miami and No. 15 North Carolina) in the AVCA's top 15. Competing in the ACC provides the kinds of challenges and experiences that reward teams in the postseason.

The Cardinals have made it to at least the Sweet 16 five years in a row and has advanced to the Elite Eight four of the last five seasons. Louisville had its second national-runner-up finish in program history last December after falling to Penn State in four sets.

UofL's archrival Kentucky received a one-seed.

Selections: Sunday, Nov. 30

First and second rounds: Dec. 4-6

Regionals: Dec. 11-14

Semifinals: Dec. 18 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri

Championship: Dec. 21 at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri
