The weather may be getting cold outside, but Michigan football is heating up on the recruiting trail.

The Wolverines landed a commitment from Recarder Kitchen, a class of 2027 four-star edge from Muskegon, on Sunday, Nov. 30. It was their second pledge of the day, after having already flipped four-star defensive back Jamarion Vincent (Class of 2026) from Baylor in the afternoon.

Kitchen, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound junior, is the No. 2 prospect in Michigan for his class, as well as the No. 17 edge nationally, per 247 Sports' composite rankings. He is currently slotted as the No. 110 recruit overall.

Kitchen, who also plays tight end, was a team captain in 2025.

Kitchen is now the fourth commit in U-M's '27 class and the first on the defensive side, joining four-star quarterback Peter Bourque (Marion, Massachusetts), three-star offensive lineman Tristan Dare (Southlake, Texas) and three star offensive lineman Louis Esposito (Saline), who is the son of defensive line coach Lou Esposito.

Michigan's 2027 class ranks No. 16 nationally.
