With Knox Kiffin’s father, Lane, having accepted the LSU Tigers’ vacant head coaching position, the sophomore quarterback said his goodbye via social media to Oxford (MS).
The younger Kiffin posted on Instagram a goodbye message to Oxford as his family will be heading to Baton Rouge as his father announced Sunday he would be accepting the LSU job.
The 2028 quarterback as the season progressed at Oxford started to put up some big numbers as the Chargers reached the MHSAA playoffs. Kiffin finished the season completing 59 of 98 passes for 1,058 yards and 11 touchdowns for Oxford.

“It’s definitely a little bit annoying but I understand, they want to know,” Knox Kiffin said to Rivals back on Nov. 12 about people asking him if his father is going to stay at Ole Miss or leave for another SEC job.
“I don’t know anything about it and I don’t think he’s really worried about anything. He’s just trying to go to the playoffs. I don’t think he’s worried about any of that until after the season.”
Knox had announced during the 2025 season that he would be visiting LSU, but had yet to receive an offer from the Tigers. He also has collegiate offers on the table from schools like Arkansas State, FIU, Western Kentucky, Georgia State, Sacramento State, SMU and Murray State.
