Gardner was lined up with a Texans player and was simply blocking, but something happened with his leg. He was seen limping and could not walk on his own power.

The two-time Pro Bowler had to be assisted off the field and into the locker room. So far, things do not look good.
...Gardner was part of one of the biggest trades in recent memory. The Colts sent the New York Jets two first-round picks and AD Mitchell to land the All-Pro cornerback.
In the two games that the Colts have had Gardner in the secondary, he has posted two passes defended and 13 total tackles. He has also secured a 50.0 percent completion percentage and a 62.8 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks when targeted.
The Colts have seen a huge boost to their secondary with Gardner, and now he may be looking at a significant injury. The way that he could not put any pressure on the leg was quite concerning.

Indianapolis will do tests to see what occurred, but it is believed that Gardner might be out for the remainder of the game from the looks of the injury incident. So far, the Colts have announced that he is currently questionable to return due to a calf injury.
The hope for the Colts is that Gardner did not suffer anything that will keep him out for multiple weeks.
