Could the Milwaukee Bucks or Brooklyn Nets be a potential trade partner for the Boston Celtics and Anfernee Simons? It is no secret that the Bucks' front office scrambled to find cheap talent to add to the team this past offseason, and it seems they looked into but ultimately did not pull the trigger on a trade for Simons with the Celtics. Similarly, Brooklyn could use a talent infusion as a rebuilding ball club, but after drafting a handful of backcourt players, Simons likely lost any appeal he might have had when talks between the two teams for Simons began.

That juicy little nugget came to the surface in recent reporting from HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, who shares that in addition to having "discussed several trade scenarios involving Simons that ultimately fell through" with Brooklyn, the Bucks "also kept tabs on Simons" as a potential trade target.

With the Celtics rumored to have had interest in Nets big man Day'Ron Sharpe, there could still be the outline of a trade to be had involving Simons, though at this point it would likely involve a third team for Simons to land with.

It is unclear whether that might be the Bucks or some other team, it does seem there is at least a baseline of interest in Simons around the league. Whether that becomes an actual trade this winter remains to be seen, but there is plenty of time for other clubs to decide they need what the former Portland Trail Blazers guard can provide.

Whether that is cap relief from his expiring contract, what he can give you on the court, or a combination of both.
