It was a demoralizing loss for the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines (9-3) against the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-0) on Saturday afternoon. Michigan lost 27-9, didn’t score a touchdown, and didn’t score at all in the second half.

“Very disappointed in the result,” Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said after the game. “Credit to them and how they played and how they executed. We did not to our standard.”

Moore said that Michigan has “gotta be much better”, that Ohio State “outplayed” them, and that his team has “got a lot to work on.”

Moore spoke about how this rivalry is lived year-round and how he holds himself accountable for the team losing.

“It stings, everybody stings. You sting for the seniors, you sting for the program. When you’re in this 24-7, when you’re in this for 365, this hurts,” Moore said. “You work tirelessly to make this be successful. So it’s not just about me, it’s really about the kids and all the hard work they put in. I’ll put it on me, always put stuff on me. And self-reflect, self-look at and see what we need to fix and see what we need to do. It’s gotta be better.”

Moore still feels the 2025 Michigan team has something to play for in the form of a bowl game. He wants Michigan to finish the season with a win, which would be its tenth of the season.

“We’ll look at the film and see exactly what it is. But you don’t want this feeling again, 364 days a year. Working to figure out ways to win this game, along with all the other games we’re gonna play,” Moore said. “We got another game we gotta play after this. So we gotta regroup and try to get ten wins. That’ll be huge.”
