Fourteen years later, the Eagles have landed.

Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) turned back the clock on Friday night, winning the program's first CIF-SS Div. 1 Championship since 2011 in a stunning victory over No. 2 Centennial (Corona, Calif.).

The 42-7 final was a massive statement win for the trending Trinity League team and first-year head coach Carson Palmer. And it also placed the Eagles in the Super 25 spotlight alongside No. 11 Carrollton (Ga.), with the Trojans handing No. 1 Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) its first loss of the year.

That shocking final became the latest in a long line of top-ranked teams losing their grip atop the Super 25.
