For the third time in four years, Passaic Tech (10-4) came up short on the final day of the high school football season.

Washington Township claimed its first state championship in program history, securing a 31-12 win over Passaic Tech in the Group 5 state title game Nov. 28 at MetLife Stadium.

Jaylen Robinson scored three touchdowns − all in the second half − and ran for 112 yards on six carries as the Minutemen (14-0) capped a perfect season.

Passaic Tech led 6-3 at halftime thanks to a 15-yard touchdown pass from Gabriel Miles to Tyson Watkins in the second quarter. Kadir Younge scored the Bulldogs' other touchdown, a 4-yard run with two minutes left.
