Details: Barcelona’s 5-man defender target shortlist

La Liga giants Barcelona have drawn up a five-man shortlist of defensive transfer targets for the summer of 2026.

This comes as Deco and co. ramp up their search for some much-needed reinforcements at the back.

Amid ongoing speculation surrounding the future of the struggling Ronald Araújo, and with the contract terms of Andreas Christensen inching towards a close, Barcelona are expected to bring in at least one new centre-back for the 2026/27 campaign.

A left-footed option is the preference on the part of Hansi Flick and his staff, capable of lining out alongside either Pau Cubarsí or Eric García.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, the following quintet are under close observation by Barcelona ahead of next summer:

Gonçalo Inácio (Sporting CP), Murillo (Nottingham Forest), Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Luiz Benedetti (Palmeiras) and Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace).
