Alex Daugherty, Nashville TennesseanFri, November 28, 2025 at 6:09 PM UTC·1 min readThe Nashville Predators have recalled forward Reid Schaefer from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) on Nov. 28 ahead of their matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center.
Schaefer, a 6-foot-4, 226 pound left-handed winger, is expected to make his NHL debut against the Blackhawks.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Predators acquired Schaefer in February 2023 in a trade with Edmonton that sent defenseman Mattias Ekholm to the Oilers. Nashville also acquired a 2023 first-round pick in the trade, which they used to select defenseman Tanner Molendyk.
Schaefer, 22, is a bruising forward with a hefty physical edge to his game, but this season, he's added some offensive punch. He has four goals and 10 assists in 15 games for the Admirals and also leads the team in shots (41). With nine points in his last six games, Schaefer has been one of Milwaukee's most consistent attacking forwards.

An Edmonton, Alberta native, Schaefer was drafted No. 32 overall by the Oilers in 2022. Prior to that, he played four seasons with the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL), scoring 60 goals and 62 assists in 146 games.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSchaefer signed his three-year, entry-level contract in July 2022, but his contract didn't begin until his pro career with Milwaukee in 2023. He will be a restricted free agent in 2027.
