Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was seen in a sling in the second half of the 34-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams as fans thought their quarterback might be done for the year.

But head coach Todd Bowles eased those fears, stating it was an AC joint sprain, which is good news as Baker's season isn't over, and that means the Buccaneers' season isn't over either.

However, the question of whether or not Mayfield would take his place in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals is still unanswered.

Well, as Baker fronted the media on Wednesday, he detailed how healthy he would have to be to suit up against Arizona.

“It's pain tolerance and management at that point,” Mayfield said. “See how it goes through the week, and go from there. But understanding that we have Teddy [Bridgewater] and I've been in this spot before, hurting the non-throwing shoulder, and if it's going to hinder how I play, then probably won't go. But won't know that until later in the week, getting practice reps and see how that goes.”

Given the nature of Tampa Bay's season, the margin for error is slim, as the Carolina Panthers are right behind Bowles' team in the race for the NFC South. It would make sense to try to give Baker as much time as possible to get healthy enough to play on Sunday.

But there are still a host of games left in the season, and putting Baker out there now could be to the detriment of the team, and even he stated that if he can't be himself, then he won't play.

On Friday, Bowles told reporters Mayfield "looked good." He didn't ensure that Mayfield would start on Sunday. But all signs are pointing to him taking part in the festivities.
