Frogs O’ War Staff Picks: College Football Week 14Story byAnthony NorthFri, November 28, 2025 at 5:10 PM UTC·14 min read

Big 12

Utah Utes at Kansas Jayhawks – Fri. Nov. 28, 11:00 AM, ESPN

  • Anthony: Utes blow out a cratering Jayhawks to keep its CFP at-large & Big 12 Title hopes alive to keep the pressure on the teams at the top of the standings. It’s sad to see the unrealized potential out of KU QB Jalon Daniels as his collegiate career will end without a bowl and likely battered by a swarming Utah defense.

  • Austin: Kansas is checked out at this point, while the Utes are vying for a College Football Playoff bid. As Anthony said, it’s disappointing to see Jalon Daniels never lead the Jayhawks to even a bowl victory. Utah wins, and wins big.

  • Caleb: Kansas has fallen short in Jalon Daniels’ last ride as a Jayhawk and his career storyline will be one of loyalty in an era where most QBs would have jumped ship. As the Jayhawks have failed to build a team around him, new Big 12 teams like Utah have risen to the occasion. Utah needs a statement win for the CFP committee since they won’t be in Arlington for the B12 Championship, and they get one in Lawrence.

  • Drew: Kansas let up over 200 yards on the ground last week to Iowa State and I expect Utah to be able to run the ball very well against the Jayhawks. I think Utah follows up their thrilling win over Kansas State last week with a win over Kansas here.

  • Russ: Utah has been dominant in recent weeks and I think that trend continues. Utes over the Jayhawks in Lawrence.

Arizona Wildcats at Arizona State Sun Devils – Fri. Nov. 28, 8:00 PM, FOX

  • Anthony: What a turnaround from Brent Brennan! After looking lifeless in his first season in Tucson squandering the final season of Tetairoa McMillan, the Wildcats have had a breakout 2025 campaign. Arizona continues its surprising season with a road win in the Territorial Cup to send ASU’s Kenny Dillingham off to greener pastures with a loss.

  • Austin: Arizona keeps rolling with a win over its rival in Tempe. Despite being without Sam Leavitt, the Sun Devils have looked good, but the Wildcats pose too much for Arizona State.

  • Caleb: Arizona slipped in the middle of the season, with their three losses all coming in a four game stretch, but has been a brand new team after their bye week. ASU has been due for a loss with Sims at the helm and we almost saw it against Scotty Fox and the Mountaineers, I think it happens this week against a solid QB in Noah Fifita. Wildcats win on the road.

  • Drew: Arizona is having a very underrated season and they have won four straight games as Noah Fifita is having a nice bounce back year. Arizona State has played well despite the loss of Leavitt to injury but I think Arizona picks up a win on the road here.

  • Russ: Arizona State keeps finding ways to win, even without Sam Leavitt. I’ll take the Sun Devils to squeak out another victory here.

Texas Tech Red Raiders at West Virginia Mountaineers – Sat. Nov. 29, 11:00 AM, ESPN

  • Anthony: This will be about as ugly as it can get. Raiders can rest its entire two-deep for the Big 12 Championship and still waltz to an easy win in Morgantown.

  • Austin: Is this even a question? Texas Tech won’t let the Mountaineers stop it from its mad dash toward the CFP. The Red Raiders win handily.

  • Caleb: Crazy things happen in Morgantown, but fortunately for Tech this game is being played during the day. I would expect Tech to win this one comfortably, but not without a little Scotty Fox magic scattered throughout. Red Raiders win.

  • Drew: West Virginia has shown some juice in recent weeks but Texas Tech is clearly the better team. I have the Red Raiders winning comfortably on the road.

  • Russ: Despite their improved play recently, the Mountaineers can’t keep pace with Texas Tech. Red Raiders win big here.

Houston Cougars at Baylor Bears – Sat. Nov. 29, 11:00 AM, TNT / HBO Max

  • Anthony: Two teams clearly headed in opposite directions in the Lone Star State. UH has taken the leap under Willie Fritz, bringing in elite recruits to go with elite scheme. Baylor meanwhile is waving the white flag, punting on another season because it doesn’t have the funds to conduct a coaching search. Houston mercifully ends the Bears’ season, squashing its bowl hopes and ending the collegiate careers of most of the Baylor roster.

  • Austin: Houston is reeling as of late, losing two of its last three, with its only win being a three-point one over UCF. Nonetheless, Baylor hasn’t fared much better with four losses in its previous five games. The Cougars take this one in Waco to get back on track before a bowl appearance.

  • Caleb: Something stinks in Houston, they look like a team who’s mentally checked out after having their conference title hopes shot out by a blunder against West Virginia. Baylor has one more shot at bowl eligibility after dropping 4 of their last 5. I expect their seniors to rise to the occasion with the idea of this being potentially their last game in green, not for Aranda or anything. Bears win at home.

  • Drew: Houston did not look super impressive last week against the Frogs, but Baylor cannot stop anyone on defense, letting up 41 points to Arizona and 55 points to Utah in its last two games. I have the Cougars winning a high scoring game on the road over the Bears.

  • Russ: Houston has struggled in the last few games, but Baylor is a program without direction right now. Cougars bounce back with a win over the Bears.

Colorado Buffaloes at Kansas State Wildcats – Sat. Nov. 29, 11:00 AM, FS1

  • Anthony: How will KSU respond after what it perceives as a horrific officiating malpractice that gifted a game to the Utes last week? Chris Kleiman and this Wildcats squad is simply too good to fall out of bowl eligibility, and it is just miles better than whatever Coach Prime is doing in Boulder right now. EMAW

  • Austin: The Buffaloes don’t offer any resistance against the Wildcats. Kansas State has underperformed all season, but Colorado isn’t one to deter the Wildcats from bowl contention.

  • Caleb: For all the ups and downs that K State has had this season, they have an opportunity to get to a bowl at home against a freshman QB. There’s been some low-hanging fruit that’s gone unplucked by Chris Klieman this season but losing here would be a borderline fireable offense. They hold it together and roll here for the victory.

  • Drew: Kansas State has not lived up to expectations this season, but Colorado is one of the worst teams in the conference. I have the Wildcats reaching bowl eligibility with a win at home here.

  • Russ: Colorado has quielty made a case in recent weeks for being the worst team in the conference outside of Oklahoma State. Kansas State dominates in Manhattan.

Iowa State Cyclones at Oklahoma State Cowboys – Sat. Nov. 29, 11:00 AM, ESPNU

  • Anthony: Pokes officially go winless in consecutive Big 12 campaigns as the Stillwater faithful cling to the hope of a new era with whichever new head coach it can bring in to find brighter days ahead. However, the darkness before that potential dawn only gets darker as the Cyclones demolish OK State on Saturday.

  • Austin: Eric Morris was a fantastic hire for Oklahoma State. Optimism will soon return to Stillwater. But as for now, Iowa State will march into town and trample the Cowboys.

  • Caleb: Can Morris and Mestemaker start this weekend? No? Then give me the Cyclones. Campbell and Co. have found their groove again since it was gifted to them by TCU 2 weeks ago and they roll again here. You’re welcome, by the way!

  • Drew: The only reason Colorado isn’t the worst team in the conference is because Oklahoma State still exists. Expect Rocco Becht to have a big day as Iowa State runs away with this one on the road.

  • Russ: Eric Morris may be coming, but he isn’t here now to save Oklahoma State from a winless Big 12 record. Iowa State takes down the Cowboys in Stillwater.

UCF Knights at BYU Cougars – Sat. Nov. 29, Noon, ESPN2

  • Anthony: It’d sure be funny if this is the game the Cougars mess around and get caught looking ahead and end up with nothing to look ahead to. It won’t happen, but it would be funny. BYU wins with ease.

  • Austin: BYU is simply too good on both sides of the ball. The Cougars win their 11th game of the season in front of a home crowd.

  • Caleb: If this game was at UCF, I’d say BYU only wins by 30. Since it’s in Provo, I think Cougars by 40 plus.

  • Drew: BYU has looked excellent in their last two games while UCF barely managed to take down Oklahoma State at home last week. I have the Cougars here.

  • Russ: BYU seems primed for a spot in the Big 12 championship game this season. Cougars roll over the Knights in Provo.

Top National Games

Ole Miss Rebels at Mississippi State Bulldogs – Fri. Nov. 28, 11:00 AM, ABC

  • Anthony: The actual football game here is nothing compared to whatever drama Lane Kiffin will continue to bring as he strings out his coaching recruitment. While the Egg Bowl always produces something bonkers, the final result will have the Rebels locked into a Playoff spot. Ole Miss by a bunch.

  • Austin: Mississippi State isn’t a squad to overlook—they’ve put the scare into some quality opponents. But Ole Miss is a good team. The Lane Kiffin-led Rebels win the Egg Bowl for the third year in a row.

  • Caleb: Can Ole Miss shut out the Kiffin chatter for a week? I think so, especially against a Bulldog team that’s lost 6 of their last 7 and that one 1 win being against Arkie. Miss State lays an egg bowl and the Rebs roll.

  • Drew: Mississippi State has given a few good teams a close game but I don’t see the Bulldog offense keeping up with the high powered attack from Ole Miss. I have the Rebels winning the Egg Bowl.

  • Russ: Will all of the Lane Kiffin drama come back to bite Ole Miss in the butt? I don’t think so. Rebels over the Bulldogs in Starkville.

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets – Fri. Nov. 28, 2:30 PM, ABC

  • Anthony: The Yellow Jackets tossed its season into the garbage last week with the ugly home loss to Pitt, but could make an argument for an at-large spot with a victory over the Bulldogs. The Committee will never need to make that assessment because the Dawgs devour Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

  • Austin: What’s happened to the Yellow Jackets? After ranking as high as seventh, Georgia Tech is now 23rd after losing two of its last three. The Bulldogs handle their rival with surprising ease.

  • Caleb: The ACC is a dumpster fire and GA Tech was the only hope of absolving that conference from its wrongdoings. They further tarnish the name of the Atlantic Coast Conference (that has 2 California schools and a North Texas School) by getting tarred & feathered by a Georgia team that means business. Go Dawgs.

  • Drew: Georgia Tech has crumbled down the stretch after being in the driver’s seat of the ACC just a few weeks ago. Georgia has been dominant since the loss to Alabama and I think the Bulldogs will be prepared for Haynes King and the Georgia Tech rushing attack. I have Georgia winning this one.

  • Russ: I believed in the Yellow Jackets last week and I paid the price. UGA dominates GT here.

Texas A&M Aggies at Texas Longhorns – Fri. Nov. 28, 6:30 PM, ABC

  • Anthony: DKR is proven to be not a terribly dangerous venue for visiting teams, especially elite CFP-level teams. Despite its size, the Longhorns’ home stadium just ends up not delivering any true advantage when filled with burnt orange-clad fans. The Aggies have the place half empty by halftime, running up a huge advantage and cruising to its first victory in the series since 2010, the last time the programs matched up in Austin.

  • Austin: I’m calling it (after I’ve already tried to call it multiple times), Texas A&M finally loses in this much-anticipated matchup between these two schools, who resumed their rivalry a season ago. Texas narrowly edges out the Aggies.

  • Caleb: A&M had an off week by playing Samford last week so I imagine they’ve been able to focus a bit more on this season finale against UT, rivalry and all. Texas may come off the mat for rivalry games (see this year’s Red River Shootout), but they’re also a team that just struggled to defend the Arkansas offense. Elko and the Aggies are finally built for the moment and they take it at DKR. Gig them!

  • Drew: Texas A&M’s skill position talent has overwhelmed opposing defenses all season but Texas is one of the few teams in the nation with the defense to match the Aggie offense. Arch Manning and the UT offense have fallen very short of expectations but I think Texas finds a way to score 20 points and the UT defense shuts down A&M. I have the Longhorns playing spoiler at home here.

  • Russ: Arch Manning has quietly strung together four very solid performances. Will that be enough to help Texas take down A&M? Not so fast. Aggies take a close one at DKR.

Ohio State Buckeyes at Michigan Wolverines – Sat. Nov. 29, 11:00 AM, FOX

  • Anthony: Last season’s result was one of the most shocking outcomes in recent memory and it just will not happen again. Ohio State is a freight train and although Michigan is better than it was in 2024, the Buckeyes never let off the accelerator and continue ahead to a battle of undefeateds in the Big Ten Championship next week.

  • Austin: Michigan has dominated this rivalry in recent seasons, but the bleeding stops here. Ohio State finally keeps the Wolverines at bay.

  • Caleb: The Big 10 could shoehorn their 4th team into the CFP if Michigan wins here, could the fix already be in? I don’t think it would matter either way, Ohio State is a well-oiled machine and Michigan has a lot of potential to be that later on. For now, Ohio State is superior and they win on the road.

  • Drew: Ohio State’s defense is playing at an all time level and I can’t see Michigan having much success on offense. On the other side, Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate form college best wide receiver duo and Julian Sayin has been impressive under center. Ohio State is the more talented team and I think they finally take down the Wolverines.

  • Russ: Regardless of how good Ohio State is, Michigan always seems to be the kryptonite. My heart says Michigan, but my brain says Buckeyes. Ohio State survives in Ann Arbor.

Vanderbilt Commodores at Tennessee Volunteers – Sat. Nov. 29, 2:30 PM, ESPN

  • Anthony: Rocky Top rumbles and spoils the Vandy Playoff case. Rather than celebrate this rivalry win that would be so damaging to their Nashville neighbors, delusional UT fans will claim the win should propel the Vols into the CFP discussion and we’ll have to hear SEC and ESPN shills support the claim despite its lack of merit.

  • Austin: After years and years of losing seasons, the Vanderbilt Commodores have found some magic, led by Diego Pavia. The Commodores defeat the Volunteers to secure their first double-digit campaign in school history.

  • Caleb: Vandy has lost their last 2 road games against decent teams and I think they drop a 3rd straight here against Tennessee. I’m sure the Vols were embarrassed by how last year’s matchup went and are looking to shake that off with a victory of their own. I think the SEC maintains a CFP spot and Tennessee jumps up to 12 with the win to make up for the Vanderbilt Cinderella storyline.

  • Drew: Tennessee has a total of zero wins over FBS teams with a winning record this season and Vandy has played well in big games this year. I think Vanderbilt’s offense does a good job of taking what the defense gives them and I have the Commodores picking up a huge win on the road in this one.

  • Russ: In what will be my lone upset pick of the week, I’ll take Vanderbilt to beat Tennessee at Rocky Top.
