The New York Jets have a strong connection to the Dallas Cowboys after their trade sending Quinnen Williams to Dallas for a 2027 first-round pick at the 2025 NFL trade deadline.

It was one of the more surprising moves of any kind in recent NFL history, and it's far from the only stunner Jerry Jones has pulled this year. He traded Micah Parsons for a massive haul to the Green Bay Packers, which included Kenny Clark and multiple first-round picks.

But, during an appearance on 105.3 The FAN, Jones revealed a wild offseason trade offer he sent to the Jets. It was a deal that would've sent Parsons to the Jets and Williams to the Cowboys, along with a first-round pick that would've surprisingly gone to the Jets.

"Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said he offered the New York Jets a first-round pick and Micah Parsons for DT Quinnen Williams before the season started." Jon Machota of The Athletic shared.

Jerry Jones explained why: "I thought that much of Williams."

This trade, if it were actually on the table for the Jets, should've been accepted by Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn.

The Jets likely weren't going to be able to pay Parsons, making this trade an unrealistic one. But, if Jones did actually offer this to the Cowboys, then it's a wonder why it wasn't accepted.

Adding a first-round pick for Williams was already a decent return, but adding Parsons, even if he wasn't the happiest coming to New York, would've been highway robbery for the Jets.

But, as Connor Hughes of SNYtv added on, this trade was never actually offered to the Jets. While there was a conversation, it didn't last long, and never materialized into anything.

Parsons did end up on a new team, landing with the Green Bay Packers, and Williams did get dealt to the Cowboys, but it wasn't part of the same deal.

Jones might've been embellishing this trade discussion a bit to emphasize his support and appreciation for Williams, as if he actually made this offer, and it were to be accepted, it would've been one of the most surprising trades in NFL history.
