Fear not, Supernatural friends. Although the road so far has been a bit bumpy following Netflix’s recent reveal that the hit CW series of yesteryear would soon take its leave from the streamer, we’re officially back in business thanks to Prime Video. As part of the platform’s upcoming December releases, the Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki-led fan-favorite series will join its extensive catalogue, giving subscribers a new shot at watching all 15 seasons. This news will come as a deep sigh of relief to anyone who considers Supernatural to be their comfort show, as with its Netflix departure, it was looking like there would be no way to stream the entire series. But, now it will just live where other projects from the show’s creator, Eric Kripke, have found a home, like The Boys and its hit spin-off Gen V.
Over nearly two decades, audiences tagged along with paranormal investigators Dean (Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Padalecki) on their journey to hunt as many of hell’s baddies as possible. Along the way, the siblings unraveled plenty of secrets about their family and even saved the world on numerous occasions. The title would ultimately become one of the network’s most beloved productions, and not a dry eye was left when the credits rolled on the series finale upon its arrival in 2020. Along with the two brothers, a slew of other memorable characters helped make the show the fan-favorite that it became, thanks to performances from Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mark Sheppard, Ruth Connell, DJ Qualls, Felicia Day, and more.
The ‘Supernatural’ Boys Will Fight Together Again
While there may not be any immediate plans to bring Supernatural back to a TV screen near you, a new graphic novel continues the Winchesters’ travels and rounds out parts of the story that never made the series. Additionally, Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins will all join forces in the upcoming fifth and final season of Kripke’s series, The Boys, during which Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy from the show’s third season. As of right now, further details about what eccentric and larger-than-life personalities Padalecki and Collins will take on are being kept under wraps, but, with Season 5 expected to arrive next year, we’ll be keeping our eyes out for any further information.
For now, you can stream Supernatural on Netflix before it makes the jump to Prime Video on December 1.
