The Green Bay Packers came away with a 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, but lost defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt to injury.

Wyatt was carted off with an ankle injury, which could be a devastating blow to the Packers' defense.

"It doesn’t look good, guys. I’m sick for him, I’m sick for us. I mean, that’s a critical loss for our football team, for our defense obviously," head coach Matt LaFleur said.

Wyatt has been one of Green Bay's best defensive players when on the field. The former first-round pick has 27 total tackles, four sacks, and six tackles for loss.

“It’s going to be challenging, but we’re going to have to really dial into our details, our fundamentals, to try to replace someone who is irreplaceable," Micah Parsons said.

Wyatt is one of the Packers' best run stuffers and pass rushers, and if he is out for the season, it would be a significant loss for Jeff Hafley's defense.

Green Bay will rely more on Colby Wooden, Warren Brinson, and Nazir Stackhouse to step up at defensive tackle in his absence.

This will also put more pressure on the Packers' other pass rushers. Micah Parsons has performed at an incredible level, but Green Bay will need Rashan Gary, Lukas Van Ness, and Kingsley Enagbare to play well down the stretch.

The Packers will have a crucial matchup against the Chicago Bears next week. Chicago is in first place in the NFC North, though the Packers could be leading by a half-game if the Bears lose to the Eagles on Friday.

Green Bay swept Detroit in their matchups this season, which gives them a major edge over the Lions, which, at 7-5, is still in the mix for the division. However, it looks like it'll come down to the 8-3-1 Packers and 8-3 Bears.

Chicago's offense has been impressive, as they are sixth in yards per game and second in rushing yards per game. The Packers' run defense has been strong all season long, but it gets weaker without Wyatt.

Green Bay will need to rally together as a unit down the stretch, as the loss of Wyatt will be major.
