ESTAC Troyes president Edwin Pindi has revealed he dreams of signing Rayan Cherki (21) from Manchester City, in an interview with RMC Sport. Due to the Premier League club being part of the same ownership group as L’ESTAC, he joked that there could be a possibility that the France international attacking midfielder could make the switch.
Cherki left Olympique Lyonnais during the summer transfer window for a fee of €40million. The OL academy product has impressed during his time at the Etihad Stadium, scoring 3 goals and registering 3 assists in his first 11 appearances across all competitions for the club.

Given his recent move to Manchester City, it is highly unlikely that the 21-year-old playmaker will be making a return to France any time soon, never mind Ligue 2. However, Pindi suggested that something could happen like this in the future. Talking about the French second division club’s role within City Group, the Troyes president said, “Our role is to form younger players, and also to have players that are consistent with our club’s size and division.”
On the prospect of signing players from the Manchester side, he said, “So, I would like to sign a player from Manchester City, but frankly, in Ligue 2, I’m not sure there is one suitable.” Pushed to choose one, Pindi joked, “No, I can’t, there are too many good players. At the moment, I dream of signing Rayan Cherki.”
