The Bengals are 3-8, and while their playoff hopes have all but evaporated, they'll welcome Joe Burrow back to the lineup on Thanksgiving night against the Baltimore Ravens.
Head coach Zac Taylor confirmed the news on Monday ahead of Cincinnati's first practice of the week, and the team activated the quarterback following Wednesday's practice.
Burrow practiced last week and had been listed as questionable to return against the Patriots after he made significant progress from a turf toe injury that has sidelined him since Week 2. The two-time Pro Bowler was a full participant at Wednesday and Thursday practices before being limited on Friday. Bengals coach Zac Taylor said Burrow did everything he could to put himself in a position to play, and Burrow told the media there were no setbacks through the week.
"I anticipate him playing, but we'll continue to work through the week," Taylor said. "We'll continue with that mindset. It looks like he's in good shape right now to be ready to go."
"If Joe (Burrow) ends up being the starter, then Joe Flacco will be the backup," Taylor added.
With Burrow out of the lineup, Cincinnati (3-8) has gone 1-8 without its star quarterback this season. The Bengals are looking to end a four-game skid Sunday against the Ravens (6-5).
