Thursday marked the end of the NBA's All-Star break, and the Los Angeles Lakers will get back to work on Friday. They will have two challenging games to begin the final portion of their schedule: a contest on Friday against the hot Los Angeles Clippers, and one on Sunday versus the surprising Boston Celtics.
The Lakers have been hit by a string of injuries to key players this season. Austin Reaves missed over a month with a gastrocnemius strain, and shortly after he returned earlier this month, Luka Doncic sustained a hamstring strain that has caused him to miss their last four games.

Even better, Reaves, who has come off the bench lately since his return, will not have a minutes restriction, according to coach JJ Redick.

"Austin Reaves also will no longer be on his minutes restriction stemming from a five-week absence with a calf injury, coach JJ Redick said after practice at the Lakers' training complex."
The Lakers have a 33-21 record, which puts them in fifth place in the Western Conference. They're in a virtual tie with the sixth-place Minnesota Timberwolves, but they're also just 1.5 games behind the third-place Denver Nuggets.
The Clippers will play the Nuggets on Thursday, and they will be without star guard Darius Garland, whom they recently acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers for James Harden, due to a toe injury.
