The Greatest Of All Time? Is the GOAT Michael Jordan or LeBron James?

The basketball world may never know.

But if you're arguing for MJ, there's one fresh stat that makes a great case.

MJ scoring stat vs. LeBron

LeBron is the NBA's all-time leading scorer, but he's done that in part through longevity.

Jordan was much more potent on a per-game basis.

MJ averaged 30.1 points per game in his career. James is currently at 26.9 points per game.

And noted X statistician Ryan Spaeder shared this gem:

"Michael Jordan could return to the NBA today, go scoreless for 128 consecutive games, and would still average more points-per-game than LeBron James."

Not bad at all.

Something tells us that if 63-year old Michael Jordan came back to the NBA right now, he'd occasionally put the ball in the basket, too.

At this rate, maybe LeBron will still be playing when he's 63.

Of course, this is all just a fun argument. They're two of the all-time greats, so special at all their abilities on the basketball court.

But yeah, MJ scored with the best of them, even if his stop-start NBA career means his counting totals didn't end up quite as high.
