After Carthage went on a quick 4-0 scoring run, Landon Ray came up with a huge block on defense. The Tigers defensive efforts resulted in an alley-oop finish on the other end from Zane Browning.
Once Joplin regrouped after an early timeout, Brecken Green would get the Eagles back on track by drilling an and-one three-pointer from the right corner.
The Eagles were able to carry that momentum into the second half and prevail over the Tigers 55-51 on the road.
Joplin will return to action Thursday, February 19th at home versus Willard with gametime still to be determined. Carthage will hit the road versus Republic on the same evening at 7:30 p.m.
