SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Angelo State Hoops for both the Men and Women have only four games remaining in the regular season, both eyeing a spot in the Lone Star Conference Tournament March 6th.

The Rambelles are currently in the middle of an eight game win streak as they gear up for a regular season finale that includes two road games, two games against top 10 opponents all while sitting in 6th hoping to finish as a top eight LSC team to make the playoffs.

ASU Women’s hoops is playing their best ball right now and has had to make changes in gameplans lately as they do not sport a big right now. Assistant coach Andy Ellis mentioned at ASU’s media day that they are playing small and having to switch everything in the post and the plan has favored well. The ladies in their eight game win streak collected half of those wins on the road, the other half in front of their home crowd.

Rams basketball was in the middle of a three game win streak with six games to go before dropping two tough close contests last week to #15 St. Edward’s and St. Mary’s giving the Rams an even harder path to the playoffs as they currently sit in 9th with four games remaining, needing to hold a top eight spot when the regular season ends.

The final four games come against three teams above the Rams in the rankings such as West Texas A&M who sits tied for 7th in the LSC, Lubbock Christian in 3rd and Eastern New Mexico atop the conference including one other bubble team, Midwestern State. The Rams last season won three straight including a huge win over Number three ranked Dallas Baptist University to claim the 8th spot in the conference.

Both the Rams and Rambelles continue action this week at home for two contests, the first this Thursday hosting LCU, before Saturday’s final regular season home games against Midwestern State, with two more games remaining next week.
