The Class 1A through 6A playoffs all got under way last week while the first Class 7A postseason matchups will take place this Friday, February 20.

Prior to that, all of the state's lower classifications will be in action starting with the top-ranked teams in Class 1A and 2A on Tuesday as the regional semifinals get under way. The Hatch [Uniontown, AL] Bobcats are the highest-ranked team in the Class 1A ranks while the Providence Christian [Dothan, AL] Eagles are the frontrunners in Class 2A.

Then on Wednesday, February 18, the Class 3A Hale County [Moundville, AL] Wildcats and the Class 4A Ashville [AL[ Wildcats will be back on the hardwood with both those teams currently ranked No. 1 in their respective divisions. Finally, on Thursday, February 19, the top-ranked teams from Class 5A and 6A – the Guntersville [AL] Wildcats and the Oxford [AL Yellow Jackets – will continue their postseason journeys after surviving the first round of Alabama's playoff gauntlet last week.

At least one Class 7A game is scheduled for Friday when the Davidson [Mobile, AL] Warriors and the Daphne [AL] Trojans are scheduled to meet, but the state's overall No. 1 Huntsville [AL] Panthers won't be in action until Monday, February 23, when they face the Hoover [AL] Buccaneers.
