When the NBA held its standard media availability on Saturday for the players who would participate in Sunday's All-Star game, LeBron James didn't show up. It was announced that he would hold his own media availability on Sunday, which led some to wonder if he was going to use it as an opportunity to make a big announcement.

As it turned out, he didn't. He merely took a number of questions from reporters who were present, and one of those questions was whether he had an inkling of what he will do after this season as far as his basketball career.

There has been plenty of speculation that James will leave the Los Angeles Lakers after this season or that he may even retire this summer. But he asserted on Sunday that he doesn't know what he will do once this season ends.

"When I know, you guys will know. I don't know. I have no idea."

The 41-year-old will become a free agent once this season ends, and even if he wants to stay with the Lakers and the Lakers want him to stay, he will have to take some sort of pay cut. The team could have roughly $50 million of salary cap space, but James is making $52.6 this season, and L.A. needs to re-sign Austin Reaves, as well as bring in a couple of reinforcements to become a championship contender.

James is currently averaging 22 points on 50.2% field-goal shooting, 5.8 rebounds and 7.1 assists a game this season. On Sunday, he made his record 21st appearance in an NBA All-Star Game.
