Brooklyn Holm considers herself a basketball junkie.
The Laingsburg sophomore loves being around the game as much as possible.
And that includes consistently finding ways to give herself an edge, whether it is through early morning lifting or shooting sessions or working with trainers like former Michigan State women's basketball standout Julia Ayrault.

Holm, who was voted the latest LSJ high school athlete of week, has contributed to the Wolfpack entering a Feb. 6 game against Perry on a five-game winning streak that included avenging an earlier loss to Portland St. Patrick on Jan. 28.
Holm's success has Laingsburg off to a 13-2 start and a victory away from matching its win total from a 2024-25 season when it finished 14-10.
"It's been really fun to see all of our improvement because we were pretty good last year, but I feel like this year we've just improved so much," Holm said. "We're definitely getting a lot better."
Holm has done her part in that success. She averaged 15.0 points as a freshman while earning first team All-CMAC recognition. This season Holm is averaging 14.8 points and has made 27 3-pointers. Holm is most pleased with her growth as a rebounder and defensively.

"One of my favorite things about her is her willingness to just get better and want to get better in the areas where she's in need of some improvement," Laingsburg coach Daniel Morrill said. "It's noticeable. She's a better rebounder, she's a better defender than she was last year. She's intentional about it. Even from the beginning of the season until now she's worked at it (whether it be) on the ball, off the ball and through exchanges.
"It's admirable because when your best player and most basketball kind of kid is putting the time into the hard stuff, it's contagious and other girls want to do it as well."
Holm has aspirations of playing collegiately. She also has goals of helping Laingsburg find more success. The Wolfpack have a chance to achieve that and are in contention for a CMAC title entering the final weeks of the regular season.
