On Wednesday, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Adam Thielen announced he is retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons. Thielen was claimed off of waivers by the Steelers on December 2 and he appeared in five games for the Steelers in 2025 with three of those games being starts. Thielen hauled in 11 receptions for 117 yards.

Thielen finishes his NFL career with an impressive 704 receptions, 8.497 yards and 64 receiving touchdowns. Thielen spent 10 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, two seasons with the Carolina Panthers and just the one with the Steelers. Thielen put together a remarkable NFL career after being an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota State in 2013.

The Steelers are facing some serious decisions at wide receiver this offseason. Thielen, along with Marquez Valdez-Scantling, were added late in the season in a desperate attempt to salvage the passing offense, but it didn't work.
