The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a great start to the 2025-2026 season with a 7-1 record, their lone loss coming to No. 3 UCLA in the second game of the season. Oklahoma's coming off a big win over Florida State to win the Coconut Hoops Classic.

In the win over the Seminoles, the Sooners were led by true freshman Aaliyah Chavez, who scored 29 points with seven three-pointers and had six assists in the blowout win. For her efforts, Chavez was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time in her young career.

Chavez is the first freshman with 29 points, seven three-pointers, and six assists in a game since Caitlin Clark did it back in 2021, according to SoonerSports.com.

The freshman phenom leads the Sooners in minutes per game (29.6), points per game (18), and assists (4.4), while shooting 37.1% from the field and 37.9% from three. She's just eight games into her Oklahoma career but she's already off to a fantastic start.

The Sooners will play their second-straight game against an ACC opponent when they host the North Carolina State Wolfpack for a top-25 showdown at the Lloyd Noble Center on Wednesday.
