After three straight wins, which have arguably been the Green Bay Packers’ best rushing performances relative to their opponent’s talent, people are buying back the Packers stock that they sold after losing back-to-back games against the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles. Let’s take a look at where analysts have the Packers listed in their power rankings following their big win against the Detroit Lions, including some notable quotes from rankings that stick out.

The highest on the Packers this week was USA Today’s Nate Davis, who only had Green Bay behind the Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. Generally, most analysts have the Packers behind the Denver Broncos, too. Notably, the Packers and Broncos still have to face off in Week 15.

This is Davis’ analysis of Green Bay:

“Beat the archrival Bears on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep of the NFC North in a three-week period, and the Pack might just find itself atop the conference standings.”

I believe this is the first time all year that Sports Illustrated’s Connor Orr wasn’t the lowest on the Packers in this power ranking series. After the Thanksgiving win, Green Bay jumped up from 10th to 5th in his power rankings. Here’s what Orr had to say about the Packers this week:

“From Peter Bukowski at LockedOn Packers, Jordan Love leads NFL quarterbacks in nearly every clutch metric you can think of: EPA per play, adjusted EPA per play, success rate and completion percentage over expectation on late downs. That will play deep into December and January.”

Here’s Mike Florio’s quip:

“It’s been a long time since the Bears-Packers rivalry had significant implications for both teams.”

Thanks, Mike.

What do you think about the Packers relative to the rest of the NFL right now? Personally, the only team I’d be worried about going head-to-head against is the Los Angeles Rams. Generally, I think the Packers can at least give a team a fight otherwise. Sound off with your thoughts in the comment section.
