Texas A&M (11-1, 7-1 SEC) suffered its only loss of the regular season against rival Texas (9-3, 6-2 SEC) on Friday night, falling 27-17 in Darrell K Royal Texas Memorial Stadium, which, on its face, was one of the more disappointing performances amid the Aggies' first 11-0 start since 1992. However, Texas A&M is a lock for the College Football Playoff, but will likely drop several spots in the rankings.

Still, one loss on the road against a ranked opponent isn't the end of the world. Knowing that senior running back Le'Veon Moss will be back in the lineup for the first time in five games, especially if the Aggies host in the first round of the CFP instead of receiving a quarterfinal bye, will have the offense at full strength for the first time since the start of the season.

Entering the 2025 campaign, head coach Mike Elko added transfer wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, who have entirely changed the Aggie passing game, providing starting quarterback Marcel Reed stability in the pocket and consistent separation in coverage.

After 12 games, both players combined for 1,711 yards and 13 touchdowns, while Concepcion's 886 yards and SEC-leading nine receiving touchdowns will likely lead to the North Carolina native being selected in the first or second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The junior also led the SEC in punt return yards (460) and returned two touchdowns on the year against UTSA and LSU.

Combined with Concepcion, sophomore wide receiver and kick returner Terry Bussey ended the year leading the conference in kick return yards (421). At the same time, senior edge Cashius Howell finished the year with an SEC-leading 11.5 sacks and will look to bounce back in the CFP after his average performance against Texas.
