Over the last couple of weeks, the Dallas Cowboys have started looking like a team who could make a late-season push to get into the NFC playoff picture. Jerry Jones has been aggressive this year and the moves he made are starting to pay off.

Two weeks ago, the Cowboys were able to pull off a huge rivalry win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Last week on Thanksgiving Day, they took care of business at home against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Beating both of the teams who played in the Super Bowl last season was a major statement made by Dallas.

In Week 14, the Cowboys are set to face another major test. They will hit the road for a matchup against Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions. That game is by far their most difficult remaining contest on the schedule.

Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys...

Ahead of this week's game, Dallas has been wondering about the availability of star pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney. He has been dealing with a hamstring injury and has been limited in practice.

Jones spoke out about Clowney's status and delivered a major update that fans will love to hear.

“I look to him to be available this short week, really not a short week for us. But we don’t have many days left for him to be out there,” Jones said. “Planning on him playing, but that’s not a given. You have to, this truly is warm him up out there before the game on Thursday, and if they can play, then you’ll make them active."

He continued on, showering Clowney with praise for the way he has played since signing with the Cowboys.

“He had two sacks in the ballgame the other day. Clowney came in as the No. 1 pick in the draft, as you all know. And Clowney has maintained a level of playing in all the years that he has been here. He has had two games back-to-back that really are very noteworthy.”

So far this season in nine games with Dallas, Clowney has recorded 27 total tackles to go along with four sacks, a fumble recovery, and three defended passes. He has helped fill the void that was left by the Micah Parsons trade.

The Cowboys and Lions are set to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Thursday Night Football. If Dallas can find a way to pull off another win, things could get very interesting in the NFC.
