Having already made three films with the streaming giant, the star has signed on for The Operator, an action-thriller reportedly just acquired by Netflix after a bidding war (via Deadline).
The film is set to star Wahlberg as a former elite military operative (Delta Force or SEAL team member, perhaps) who now works as a cleaner for the CIA. His mission: to protect his most hated enemy. A game of cat-and-mouse ensues.
The script is by hot writer Harrison Query (Heads of State), who recently signed on to showrun the Netflix action series Trigger Point, starring Joel Edgerton. Query also just sold a short story to Amazon MGM Studios that will become a movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
