This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.YouTube has launched its own version of Spotify Wrapped to close out 2025. The music streaming service debuted Spotify Wrapped in 2016 as a way for listeners to show off their "best of" moments from throughout the year, including top artists, songs and genres, as well as how many songs they listened. After Spotify Wrapped's success, other streaming services have followed suit, including Apple Replay.
YouTube Recap was just unveiled by the popular video platform, along with the annual End Of Year Trending Lists. The new personalized feature is available for North American users, with global audiences receiving their Recap throughout the current week.
Users can find YouTube Recap on YouTube's homepage as well as under the You tab, and is available on both mobile and desktop devices.
YouTube Recap curates a highlights reel based on users' watch history throughout 2025. The feature will include around 12 cards (similar to Spotify Wrapped) showcasing top channels and interests, and will show everyone how their viewing habits have evolved over time. YouTube Recap will even tell users their personality type based on what videos they watch.
There's also a music element that's directly inspired by Spotify Wrapped. If a user listens to music on YouTube, then YouTube Recap will include their top artists, songs, genres and podcasts.
YouTube went through numerous testing and feedback phases before launching YouTube Recap, which is now available, getting a head start on Spotify Wrapped, which hasn't released its 2025 data yet, though the music streaming service recently said it's coming soon.
More to come...
