The Tennessee Titans are coming off a disappointing Week 13 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and appeared to regress in a major way in this divisional battle. Nothing went right, and all of the gains from recent weeks were replaced by the same negative actions that plagued them early in the season.
Between bad offensive line play, penalties, and a lack of focus, the Titans got nothing going on offense and looked completely overmatched by the Jaguars. And while the defense held up, the hole dug by the inept offense was too much to overcome.

Week 14 is four days away, and hopefully the Titans will be able to regroup, so let's sit back and take a look at the pulse of the Titans around the NFL.
That was ugly!
The Titans and Jaguars played one of the ugliest games of the season. Yes, division battles are always competitive and emotional contests, but this one turned into a flagfest. The two teams combined for 23 accepted penalties, including multiple skirmishes that went on well after the whistle and apparently included at least one death threat.

Get well, Xavier
Titans rookie wide receiver and fan favorite Xavier Restrepo was hurt against the Jaguars and had to be carted to the locker room, leaving fans and teammates fearing the worst. The undrafted rookie wideout has worked his way up the depth chart and taken advantage of his opportunities, and before the injury, appeared poised to find his way onto the 53-man roster. Now that’s on hold.
While no official update has been released, reports indicate it was not a serious season-ending injury, and he could return before the final snaps are taken. This injury is one that fans will be monitoring.
Is JC Latham a bust?
2025 has not been kind to offensive tackle JC Latham. Between injuries and poor play, the former first-round pick has been a disaster at right tackle. This has been frustrating for fans to watch, given the hype around Latham returning to his natural position during the offseason after being miscast as a left tackle in 2024.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementLatham has been a liability on the offensive line, appears to lack the athleticism and physicality to play tackle in the NFL, and has shown no signs of being able to slide inside to guard, making many wonder if he is another, in a long line, of Alabama tackles who fail to succeed in the NFL.
While that still has time to play out, there is no doubt that Latham is trending toward bust status and may not be a foundational piece moving forward.
Cam Ward vs. Shedeur Sanders
By now, the story of Ward and Sanders is well known. During the offseason, many believed these two young quarterbacks were battling for draft positioning, with both being linked to the Titans at various points in the process. Eventually, Tennessee selected Ward, and Sanders fell in the draft. In fact, he fell all the way to Day 3, when he was picked by the Browns.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNow, after multiple injuries in Cleveland, Sanders has ascended to the starting role and, as was the case in the pre-draft process, sits as a polarizing prospect. This week, the two young signal callers will battle for the first time, and fans are still debating whether or not the Titans made the right choice.
What could have been?
Not only do fans of the Titans have to deal with on-field struggles associated with a complete rebuild, but they are also subjected to the success many former Titans are experiencing across the league every week. Early on in 2025, it was A.J. Brown, Derrick Henry, and Mike Vrabel, but in recent weeks, that list has grown, and now, the highlights of former Titans are everywhere.
Time to vote!
Yes, the Titans are struggling and enter Week 14 with a 1-11 record, but that doesn’t mean they have no one deserving Pro Bowl recognition. Jeffery Simmons, Chimere Dike, Peter Skoronski and Cedric Gray are playing at a level, and all deserve some recognition for their performances. Make your voice heard and vote for your favotite Titans’ player.
