The play of the Bucs' offense in 2025 has been hit or miss, depending on the health of the players around quarterback Baker Mayfield. He has remained healthy for the most part, but in Week 13, he entered the game with a shoulder sprain that limited his normal playing style.
ESPN wrote up their takeaways from the game, with the Bucs beat reporter, Jenna Laine, discussing the play of Mayfield.

He threw for only 194 passing yards and a touchdown, but he made plays with his legs (31 rushing yards, including a 21-yard scramble up the middle), didn't turn the ball over and was particularly effective throwing on the move."
Mayfield being hurt is something the Bucs cannot have happen again, or to any more severe extent. In the second half of the team's Week 12 loss to the Rams, Teddy Bridgewater played, and the team struggled to find any sort of momentum. That alone proved Mayfield's value, so while his performance wasn't the best on Sunday, it was better than the alternative.
