Real Madrid will take on Athletic Club tomorrow evening at San Mames, hoping to get back to winning ways after a three-game run without a victory in the competition.
Heading up to the game, Xabi Alonso has welcomed mixed news on the fitness front, with one player set to return, but another important star unlikely to make it.

Indeed, according to Miguel Angel Diaz of COPE, Real Madrid will recover Raul Asencio for the game against Athletic Club, but Dean Huijsen is unlikely to make it back in time.
Asencio missed the game against Girona this past weekend as he was recovering from gastroenteritis.
The defender did a part of the group training on Monday and appears set to be included in the squad list for the trip to the Basque country.

As for Huijsen, the Spanish defensive prodigy has been out for the last two games due to discomfort that he picked up in the draw against Elche.

As such, the idea is that he will not be returning in time to face Athletic Club on Wednesday.
Apart from Huijsen, Real Madrid are also set to be without the services of captain Dani Carvajal and veteran defender David Alaba, both of whom are also recovering from fitness problems.
Real Madrid welcomed Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger back from injury against Girona, with both being named in the starting XI. With Asencio now set to be available, it will be interesting to see who Alonso opts to go with in defence against Athletic Club.
