Once again, a team that was in the top spot in the Power Rankings was toppled. The Los Angeles Rams went to Carolina and Matt Stafford committed three turnovers in an upset by the NFC South team. That doesn't mean the NFC West is poorly represented in the Power Rankings. Three teams in the division rank in the top six overall. At the other end, the Titans continue to struggle to play offense, as do the Raiders.
AFC East
4. New York Jets (3-9)
The Jets caught a team that makes mistakes and lets you hang around in the Falcons. They took advantage and got a mammoth careeer-long field goal from Nick Folk to win it. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 27

The Dolphins should have coasted against the Saints but always find a way to make it dramatic. The two-point conversion return by Minah Fitzpatrick was a rarity. Miami somehow has won three in a row. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 22
2. Buffalo Bills (8-4)
Josh Allen continues to not be sharp but the Bills' defense came up big against the slumping Steelers. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 8
1. New England Patriots (11-2)
The Patriots destroyed the Giants ... in only the first half. That must have been some sort of revenge for Mike Vrabel and the years-ago Super Bowl losses. Or New England has just become that dominant from 2024 to 2025. Amazing turnaround. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 3

4. Cleveland Browns (3-9)
The Browns gave the 49ers a battle. In the end, they made the usual mistakes, this time on special teams, muffing a punt giving SF a gift, and lost, again. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 25
3. Cincinnati Bengals (4-8)
The Bengals go into Baltimore and shock the Ravens. Joe Burrow made a huge difference, didn't he? Time for Cincy to make a big run only to come up short in the end. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 21
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6)
The Steelers did nothing on offense. They ran 43 plays over the entire game. Feels like last year with an aging Russell Wilson down the stretch only now it is an ancident Aaron Rodgers. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 18
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement1. Baltimore Ravens (6-6)
Five turnovers on Thanksgiving led to a loss to the Bengals and now the Steelers are up next. Lamar Jackson is not playing well. Something is off with the great QB. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 16
AFC South
4. Tennessee Titans (1-11)
The Titans have been outscored by 158 points this season. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 32
3. Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4)
Everyone will be shocked to see who is in first place in the AFC South. Yes, folks, it is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 17
2. Houston Texans (7-5)
The Titans have a great defense and controlled the Colts for most of the game. C.J. Stroud returned and the offense showed potential, too. The team seems to have found its way. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 10
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement1. Indianapolis Colts (8-4)
The Colts come up short against the Texans and all the good feeling of the fast start is starting to evaporate. What looked like a cruise control to a division title is now a three-horse race to the finish. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 14
AFC West
4. Las Vegas Raiders (2-10)
The Raiders' defense is sturdy and gives the team a chance. Problem is the offense is invisible and going in reverse. Brock Bowers is a star. He makes Geno Smith look adequate. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 31
3. Kansas City Chiefs (6-6)
The Chiefs are vulnerable. Every week is a must-win game and they have not been wonderful as in the past in the tight ones. Up next are the Texans and you know that won't be easy. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 13
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement2. Los Angeles Chargers (8-4)
The score makes the game look easier than it was. Justin Herbert's injured left hand limited the LA offense. The defense made the Raiders look futile. But then again, they are. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 15
1. Denver Broncos (10-2)
The Broncos were life and death to beat a struggling Commanders team. They did what they had to do and got another win. Sean Payton has done a masterful job. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 2
NFC East
4. New York Giants (2-11)
The first half was total humiliation against New England. Keeping anyone in upper management would be a total charade. This team needs to a complete overhaul and that means anyone and everyone associated with the 2025 season and recent previous seasons. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 29
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement3. Washington Commanders (3-9)
The Commanders gave it their all against a tough Broncos team. Kudos to Dan Quinn for going for two in a season where kicking the PAT in OT would have been meaningless. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 24
2. Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1)
The Cowboys may not wind up as a playoff team. However, a couple of wins gets everyone intrigued and fired up. Let's see what happens against the Lions on Thursday. Huge game for both teams. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 11
1. Philadelphia Eagles (8-4)
The good news is A.J. Brown is back big time in the Eagles' offense. The bad news is the Bears are probably still trampling Philly's defense. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 9

4. Minnesota Vikings (4-8)
The Vikings had zero offense against a team that had its quarterback from last year. Don't blame Max Bosmer. Seattle can play defense and it was a tough ask. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 23
3. Detroit Lions (7-5)
This is hard to believe but the Lions' run to being feared has been derailed. They are third in the NFC North and something needs to be fixed ... quickly ... as in before Thursday against the Cowboys. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 12
2. Chicago Bears (9-3)
The Bears are somehow the No. 1 seed in the NFC as of now. Ben Johnson has to be the NFC Coach of the Year and certainly will give Mike Vrabel a run for the overall honors. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 7
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement1. Green Bay Packers (8-3-1)
The Packers have gotten it all together. The defense is scary good. The offense is solid, not fancy. This is a team that is getting it together and faces a huge game against the Chicago Bears. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 4
NFC South
4. New Orleans Saints (2-10)
The Saints have been eliminated from playoff possibilities. This is just official. They actually were out of the running once the season started. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 30
3. Atlanta Falcons (4-8)
The Falcons found a way to lose to the Jets on a career-long field goal by Nick Folk. It isn't easy to do that but Atlanta knows how to create different ways to lose. Power Ranking: 26
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement2. Carolina Panthers (7-6)
The Panthers humbled Matthew Stafford and the Rams into three turnovers by the quarterback. The team pulled the upset and continues to show ups and downs. Eventually, there will be many more ups. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 19
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5)
The Buccaneers managed to hold off the Cardinals and get a win after a losing streak. The team is in a race for the NFC South title with the Panthers. Will be interesting to follow. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 20
NFC West
4. Arizona Cardinals (3-9)
Same old song and dance: Arizona does just enough to lose. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 28
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement3. San Francisco 49ers (9-4)
A good win against a tough Cleveland defense in windy conditions. The Niners can roll into their bye knowing they are a force in the NFC playoff picture. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 6
2. Seattle Seahawks (8-3)
The Seahawks smothered the Vikings. They didn't even need Jaxon Smith-Njiba to have a big game. He had all of two catches and former Viking QB threw for 128 yards in a waltz. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 1
1. Los Angeles Rams (9-3)
The jinx of being in the No. 1 spot in the Power Rankings continues. It is uncanny how teams get to the top and then come up with a losing effort. Overall NFL Power Ranking: 5
